- We come out and design a custom system for your roof during an in-person estimate appointment.

For the safety of your property and our crews:
- We cannot diagnose or add a circuit, or add thermostat controls to a heat cable system. Due to regulations, that work requires a licensed electrician.
- We do not provide extension cords for the plug-in system.
- We will not install on roofs that are in poor condition.
- We may reschedule due to high winds (ladders become unsafe) or rain (roofs and ladders get slippery).
- Crews will not climb areas they consider unsafe, such as near power lines, or ladders and roofs that are snowy or wet.
- The roof must be free of ice and snow before a system can be installed.
- You’ll need an outside GFCI outlet available, and you supply the extension cord for the plug-in system.
- It depends on the cable type you choose and the length needed to cover the area of concern. Self-regulating cable comes in lengths up to 150 feet; constant wattage up to 240 feet.
- The in-person estimate, the heat cable itself, and the installation.
- Constant wattage cable draws the same power whenever it’s on. Self-regulating cable adjusts to the outside temperature, drawing more power as it gets colder and less as it warms up. Self-regulating costs more and comes in shorter maximum lengths.
- No. They stay only slightly above the outside temperature. Their job is to create a heated channel through the roof edge, gutter, and downspout so meltwater has a path to the ground. A pliable cable is a working cable.
- While the roof is still clear, usually September or October. They’re a preventive measure and cannot be installed during inclement weather.
- You’ll see cables on the roof. A good installation looks like clean, symmetrical triangles along the roof edge.
We do not accept payment on the day of service. We will invoice you approximately one day after service. You may pay by check or credit card.
